c. Installation. Install the spark plugs using new
as shown in figure 4-23. The required gap is 0.030 inch.

4-36. Ignition Coil
a. Testing. To test the ignition coil, pull the
high tension lead from the center contact of the
distributor. Hold the lead by the insulation so that the
end contact is within inch of an unpainted, grounded
portion of the engine.  Turn the starter and ignition
switch to START. A hot spark should jump from the
high tension terminal to ground as the engine is
cranked. If no spark is visible and if all wiring is intact,
the coil may be faulty.
b. Removal.
(1) Tag and disconnect the electrical leads
from the ignition coil. Remove the ignition coil as shown
