Fork sideshift cylinder removed

a. Disassembly.
(1)
Use a vise with soft jaws to secure
cylinder in a horizontal position for
disassembly.
(2)
Disassemble fork sideshift cylinder
parts (1 through 14).
CAUTION
Do not scratch or damage the wear
surface of rod, piston or inner gland.
Follow this precaution to prevent
failure of the cylinder.
(a)
Pull rod (1) out approximately 5 in.
for removal of inner gland (2).
(b)
Place a container under inner
gland (2) to catch oil contained in
cylinder.
