Fuel
WARNING
DO NOT perform fuel system checks, inspections or maintenance
while smoking or near fire, flames or sparks. Fuel may ignite,
causing damage to vehicle and injury or death to personnel.
Operating personnel must wear fuel-resistant gloves when han-
dling fuels. If exposed to fuel, promptly wash exposed skin and
change fuel-soaked clothing.
NOTE
Forklift should be parked on level ground with transmission in
Neutral (N) and locked and parking brake applied. Shut down
engine.
Fuel capacity of fuel/hydraulic tank is 44 gal. (167 L) when full.
a. Remove fuel tank filler cap.
b. Place suitable container under fuel side of fuel/hydraulic tank.
c. Remove drain plug from bottom of fuel/hydraulic tank and allow fuel
and accumulated water and sediment to drain from tank.
d. Clean drain plug and reinstall.
e. Fill fuel tank with diesel fuel (Item 28 or 29, WP 0323 00).
