TMD27 (2.7L) engines in GPX 25E Diesel trucks.
Description
The starter can be roughly divided into the following
sections:
1.
A series wound motor section that develops the
cranking drive power.
2.
A reduction gear set.
3.
An over-running clutch section.
4.
An electromagnetic switch (solenoid) section.
Starter Motor Lubrication
All bearings are sealed and require no periodic
lubrication.
Starter Motor Brush Check
The brushes are not accessible without removal of the
motor and/or disassembly of the commutator end cover.
