Lift the cylinder head off the engine and carry to a clean bench for further disassembly. DISASSEMBLY OF CYLINDER HEAD 1. Using a C-type valve spring compressor, remove the valve spring  retainer  locks,  retainers,  rotors, springs  and  oil  seals  on  valve  stems  placing  all parts in a container of solvent.
