Note: Some fuel filters are not equipped with a water
drain (See Fuel Filters, Section 5).

CLEAN EXTERIOR OF ENGINE
Use steam if available, otherwise any good commercial
engine cleaner to wash down the engine.
CAUTION
Never allow cool water to come in
contact with the fuel injection pump
while the engine Is running! Injection
pump seizure may result.
3.
CHECK GLOW PLUGS
Inspect glow plug wiring.

-Inspect mounting and gaskets.

COOLING SYSTEM
Clean radiator core by blowing out with compressed air.
-Inspect radiator mounting.
-Inspect water pump and connections for leaks.
-Check fan and accessory drive belts.
EVERY 500 HOURS
3.
ADJUST VALVE TAPPET CLEARANCE
Check and adjust intake and exhaust valve tappets to
following clearances at operating temperature.
