TM 10-3930-671-10 Emergency Towing How To Tow A Disabled Truck Power  steering  will  not   operate   on   the   disabled   truck when the engine will not run.  The steering wheel will be difficult to turn. CAUTION Always    engage    the    parking    brake when  parking  a  lift  truck.    The  truck can  move  and  cause  injury  or  death to personnel near it. Park  the  disabled  truck  in  authorized  areas  only.    Fully lower the forks to the floor, put directional control lever in "N"  (neutral)  position,  and  turn  the  ignition  switch  to  the "OFF" position.  Engage the parking brake.  Remove the ignition key and put blocks behind the wheels to prevent the truck from rolling.
