This appendix identifies all the tools and special tools you will need to operate and maintain the Fork Lift. E-2.  EXPLANATION OF COLUMNS. Maintenance functions will be limited to and defined as follows: a. Column(l) - Item Number.  This number is assigned to the entry in the listing and is referenced in the narrative instructions to identify the material (e.g., "Tool Kit, General Mechanics: Automotive (Item x, Appendix E)"). b. Column (2) - Nomenclature.  Indicates the item name, if required, a description to identify the item. c. Column (3) - National/NATO Stock Number.  This is the National Stock Number assigned to the item; use it to request or requisition the item. d. Column (4) - Tool Number.  Identifies the part number of the item. E-1
