Removal.
(1)
Start engine (TM 10-3930-669-10) and run for five minutes.
(2)
Shut off engine (TM 10-3930-669-10).
WARNING
•
Transmission oil may be hot when drained. Do not come in contact with hot oil. Failure to
do so may result in injury to personnel.
•
Transmission oil is slippery and can cause falls. To avoid injury, wipe up spilled oil with
rags.
NOTE
•
Forklift should be on level surface to ensure oil level can be checked correctly and that all oil
is drained.
•
Position suitable drain pan with an 8 qt (8 l) capacity under drain plug prior to start of
procedure.
•
Transmission oil will come out immediately when drain plug is removed.
•
Allow five minutes for transmission oil to settle before draining.
(3)
Remove drain plug (1) and preformed packing (2), from drain plate (3). Discard preformed packing.
