a.
4 Wheel Steering. Move the steering select lever to the forward position. The front wheels will steer in the
same direction that the steering wheel is turned; the rear wheels will steer in the opposite direction. This mode allows the
shortest turn radius. It also enables the rear wheels to follow the tracking of the front wheels which is an advantage in mud
or sand conditions.
b.
2 Wheel Steering. Move the steering select lever to the center position. The front wheels will steer in the same
direction that the steering wheel is turned. The rear wheels will remain in the fixed forward position. This mode is used for
on-highway travel or at higher speeds.
c.
Crab Steering. Move the steering select lever to the rear position. All wheels will steer in the same direction.
This mode permits the operator to move the vehicle sideways toward the landing point of the load. This is especially
helpful in tight quarters on the job, where there is not enough space to move a conventional forklift back and forth several
times in order to line up at the exact spot in front of the loading location.
