TM 10-3930-664-10 (2) To prevent engine lugging use the travel and range select lever to place the transmission in the appropriate gear. (3) Check the gauges to ensure normal operation of the engine. (4) Check the coolant level and fill as necessary (refer to paragraph 3-8). (5) Check the oil level.  Add oil as necessary to keep it at the correct level (refer to LO 10-3930-664-12).   Do not overfill the crankcase. (6) After  the  first  50  hours  of  operation,  the  transmission  oil  filter  and  hydraulic  oil  filter  must  be  changed. Contact Organizational Maintenance to change the filters.  After the first 100 hours of operation, all the items listed below must  be  changed.    Contact  Organizational  Maintenance  to  change  the  items  listed  below  and  lubricate  the  vehicle  with correct grade of lubricant according to L010-3930-664-12. Transmission Oil Filter Hydraulic Oil Filter Engine Oil and Filter Fuel Filters Planetary Gear Oil Differential Oil 2-10. STARTING THE ENGINE. WARNING Before operating the 4KRTFL ensure your seat belt is fastened. a. Adjust  the  operators  seat  so  that  when  your  seat  belt  is  buckled  you  can  still  depress  the  service  brake  and inching and accelerator pedals. NOTE Before starting the 4KRTFL, ensure that the parking brake is engaged. b. Engage the parking brake by placing the PARK BRAKE switch to ON. NOTE Before starting the 4KRTFL, ensure that the travel and range select lever is in the neutral position. c. If the travel and range select lever is not in the neutral position, move the lever to neutral, "N". d. Depress the accelerator pedal to approximately half of its travel. CAUTION Do  not  operate  the  starting  motor  for  more  than  30  seconds.    If  engine  does  not  start  within  30 seconds,   wait   two   minutes   before   trying   to   start   the   engine   again.      Continuous   cranking   can overheat and damage the starting motor. 2-27
