Using chlorinated solvent, clean inside diameter of

fork bore (2).
4.
Using chlorinated solvent, clean outside diameter of
fork bushing (1).
5.
Align and level fork bore (2) in a hydraulic press with
cylinder rod weldment (3) facing down.
6.
Apply a 1/8 in. (3.175 mm) wide bead of loctite
around the center of the inside diameter of the fork
bore (2).
7.
Apply a 1 in. (25.4 mm) wide bead of loctite at the
lead edge of fork bushing (1).

Apply a 1/2 in. (12.7 mm) wide bead of loctite around
the outside diameter of fork bushing (1) at the center
of the bushing.

9.
Align and level fork bushing (1) on fork bore (2) and
insert appropriate mandrel.
NOTE
Prior to inserting fork bushing into fork bore, position bushing so that bushing gap is oriented to fork.
When inserting fork bushing into fork bore, continue to apply pressure until the lead edge of the bushing
is 3/16 in. (4.8 mm) below the face of the fork bore.

10.
Carefully and slowly apply hydraulic pressure to push

fork bushing (1) into fork bore (2) in one continuous
2
motion. Do not skew or cock bushing.

11.
Wipe excess loctite from fork bushing (1) and fork
bore (2).

CAUTION
Do not load fork for 72 hours after installation of fork bushing.
12.
Install forks (WP 0186 00).
