PROPELLER SHAFTS, FRONT AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL MAINTENANCE - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
NOTE
Support shaft so it does not drop when bolts and lockwashers are removed.
1.
To remove propeller shaft (1), remove four capscrews
(2) and four lockwashers (3) securing universal joint
(4) of shaft (1) to yoke (5) of axle (6). Discard lock-
washers.
2.
Hang axle end of shaft (1) on hook (7) of vehicle
frame.

Remove four capscrews (8) and four lockwashers (9)

of transmission (12). Discard lockwashers.
4.
Lift to remove shaft (1) from hook (7) on vehicle
frame.
