ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEMS
0003 00
1.
Oil Pump. Located on the front housing cover side. The pump draws oil from the oil pan, sends it through the oil cooler,
and then through the oil filter. From the filter, oil enters the cylinder block to lubricate the engine and then returns to the
oil pan. From the filter, oil is also sent through the turbocharger and then returned to the oil pan.
2.
Oil Pan. Contains oil that lubricates moving parts in the engine. Located at the bottom of the engine.
3.
Engine Oil Cooler. When the engine is warm, oil is sent through the oil cooler, which lowers oil temperature.
4.
Oil Filter. Removes particles from oil which could cause damage to internal parts of engine.
