SERVICE BY DRAINING AND FILLING TRANSMISSION  WITH  OIL 1. 2. START AND RUN ENGINE UNTIL TRANSMISSION  TEMPERATURE  IS  BETWEEN 160  and  190°F. STOP  ENGINE. DRAIN TRANSMISSION OIL FROM TRANSMISSION (1). a. Remove strainer (2) and gasket (3), from transmission (l). Discard gasket  (3). Transmission  (1)  contains  approximately five gallons of oil when filled. b. Allow transmission oil to drain from transmission (1) completely. 9-17
