1-15. GENERAL
This section explains how components of the 6KVRRTFL work together.
A functional
description is given for the engine, electrical system, steering and brake systems,
and hydraulic system.
1-16.
ENGINE
FUEL SYSTEM
WATER SEPARATOR.
Removes water moisture from fuel.
FUEL FILTER.
Removes larger particles from the fuel before it reaches the transfer
pump.
Has primary and secondary filter elements.
FUEL TRANSFER PUMP.
Pulls fuel from the fuel tank through the fuel filter, and
sends it on to the fuel injection pump.
FUEL INJECTION PUMP.
Sends exact amount of fuel to the injector nozzles.
FUEL INJECTOR NOZZLE.
Turns the stream of fuel into a fine spray which permits good
combustion in the cylinder.
There is one nozzle for each cylinder.
