NOTE All  four  axle  housings  and  planetary  carriers  are  repaired  the  same  way.    One  axle  housing  and one planetary carrier assembly are illustrated. a.  AXLE HOUSING DISASSEMBLY 1. Remove ring gear (3) from axle housing (2). 2. If  damaged,  remove  lubrication  fitting  (1)  from axle housing (2). 3. If damaged, remove two pins (10) from axle housing (2). 4. Remove plate (9) from planetary carrier (5). 5. Remove screw (8), planetary carrier (5), washer (7), and two shims (4 and 6) from axle housing (2). 5-134
