Using an arbor press, press bearing (45) and new seal (41) into retainer (43). Install new preformed packing (44) in retainer (43). Apply plastic gasket to retainer (43) mounting surface and position retainer (43) on transmission housing. Using a 3/4” socket and socket wrench  handle,  install six  bolts (42). Install deflector (40) and yoke (39) while  rotating  shaft  to  prevent  seal damage. Using a 1-7/16”   socket and torque wrench,    install  new  preformed  packing (38), washer (37) and nut (36). Tighten nut (36) to 60 lb-ft. Attach hoist and sling to lifting eye. Using a hoist and sling, turn transmission  housing  over. Remove hoist and sling. Remove lifting eye. Go to sheet 24 15-45
