Move shaft back and forth by hand.
Total indicator reading must be 0.001
to 0.004 inch.
If reading is outside
of this range, disassemble and repair
turbocharger.

Position dial indicator with foot in
contact with shaft through oil drain
port in center housing (28).
21.
Hold both ends of shaft and move
shaft up and down, parallel to
dial
indicator shaft.
Total indicator
reading must be 0.003 to 0.006 inch.
If reading is outside of this range,
disassemble and repair turbocharger.

compressor housing (4) to
backplate
(15), backplate

housing (28) and center housing (28)

surface
with
housing on bottom.

Lift turbine housing (8), center
housing (28) and items 5 thru 28 as
an assembly carefully from compressor
housing (4).
Position dial indicator with foot in
contact with shaft through oil drain
port in turbocharger assembly.
Inspect shaft radial movement. Total
indicator reading must be 0.003 to
0.006 inches.
If reading is outside
of this range, disassemble and repair
turbocharger.
