TM  10-3930-643-34 GENERAL  MAINTENANCE  PROCEDURES.  (cont) 2-13. Electrical  Repair.  (cont) (b) TS-352 B/U. 1 Set FUNCTION switch (1) to DIRECT. 2 Put black lead (2) in LHMS-DC/± AC jack. 3 To measure 24 volts DC, plug red lead (3) into 50V jack on left side of meter. (If measuring less than 10 volts DC, use 10V jack. If measuring less than 2.5 volts DC, use 2.5V jack). (6) Measuring DC voltage. To measure DC voltage, do the following steps: (a) Set up and zero multimeter. If you are unsure of the voltage to be measured on the vehicle, always start on the hightest range. This will protect the  meter. (b) Connect the red probe to the posi- tive (+) side of the circuit and the black probe to the negative (-) side. The example shows 24 volts DC being measured across the batteries. (c) Read the meter. If the needle moves off scale to the left, reverse the probes on the circuit. NOTE The following examples show how to read both  multimeters. 1  AN/URM-105. Read the DC volts scale for the range at which the selector switch is set. SWITCH  SETTING SCALE 1000 DC Volts 0-10 (and multiply by 100) 100 DC Volts 0-10 (and multiply by 10) 10 DC Volts 0-10 (read the number of scale) 1 DC Volts 0-10 (and divide by 10) 2-14
