(5) Measuring DC voltage. To measure DC voltage, do the following steps:
(a) Set up and zero multimeter.

If you are unsure of the voltage to be
measured on the vehicle, always

on the highest range.

tect the meter.
(b) Connect the red probe to the posi-
tive (+) side of the circuit and the black probe
to the negative (-) side.
The example shows 24
volts DC being measured across the batteries.
(c) Read the meter. If the needle moves
off scale to the left, reverse the probes on the
c i r c u i t.
