REMOVAL
1.
Remove engine side access cover (1)
f r o m l e f t s i d e o f e n g i ne
compartment, refer to paragraph
12-4.
Allow engine to cool off before
YOU perform maintenance on the
m u f f l e r , e x h a u s t p i p e , e x h a u st
manifold or turbocharger. If
necessary, use insulated pads and
gloves and remove all jewelry.
If you are burned, seek medical
help immediately.
NOTE
A l l e l e c t r i c a l c o n n e c t i o n s.
except those on the instrument
p a n e l , a r e s e a l a g a i n s t
moisture with silicone sealant.
R e m o v e a l l s i l i c o n e s e a l a nt
before performing maintenance
on electrical connections.
All wire must be tagged when
removed from connector.
I n d i c a t e w h e t h e r w i r e is
connected
t o p i n - t y p e or
socket-type connector.
Using a 3/8 open end wrench, remove
n u t ( 2 ) f r o m r e a r , l e f t s i d e of
engine.
Remove lock washer (3).
Disconnect wire assembly (4) at
terminal.
Using a 7/8 open end wrench, remove
sending unit (5).
