Suspend thermostat (15) in thermo-
s t a t t e s t e r.
Heat container.
Measure water
temperature
with
thermometer.
Observe.
T h e r m o s t a t ( 1 5 ) s h o u ld
open between 170 and 212 degrees
Fahrenheit.
Replace thermostat (15) if it opens
o u t s i d e p r e s c r i b ed
temperature
range.

Using a 1/4” open end wrench,
install plugs
(18
and
17)
in
thermostat housing (13).
Install new seal (16).
Install thermostat (15).
Install new gasket (14).
Using a 9/16” socket and socket
wrench handle, install
thermostat
h o u s i n g ( 1 3 ) , w a s h e r ( 1 2 ) , b o lt
(11), washer (10) and bolt (9) on
rear,
left side of engine.
Using a 13/16” open end wrench,
i n s t a l l e l b o w ( 8 ) a n d h o s e ( 7 ).
Connect base at air compressor.
U s i n g a f l a t t i p s c r e w d r i v e r ,
install hose (6) and clamps (5 and
4 ).
Connect hose (3).
Go to sheet 5
