Rear cover to case Position Install  two  aligning  studs  in housing, rear gasket (30) transmission housing to facilitate positioning of gasket and installation of rear cover (29). Apply thin coat of GAA to hold gasket in place. NOTE Before performing next step, move forward range shift hub on output shaft (see below).    Pulling on high and low shift rail may cause hub to fall off. b. Rear cover (29) Position Tap rear cover in place aligning shaft bear- ings with bearing bores in cover c. 20 lock washers Remove two aligning studs after (28) and cap several lock washers and cap screws screws (27) are installed; tighten cap screws to 37-41 pounds foot torque d.
