STEP LOCATION ITEM ACTION REMARKS CLEANING 6 INSPECTION 7 8 9 10 11 WARNING Dry cleaning solvent (P-D-680), used to clean parts is toxic and flammable. Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes and don’t breathe vapors. Do not use near open flame or exces- sive heat and don’t smoke when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you become dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air immediately, and get medical attention. If contact with skin or clothes is made, flush with large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, wash eyes with water immedi- ately,  and  obtain  medical  aid  immediately. WARNING Wear safety glasses when drying parts with compressed air. Fail- ure to do so could cause serious injury to eyes and possible blind- ness. If you hurt your eyes or if a foreign object is blown into your eyes, seek medical attention immediately. All  parts  except Clean Use cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry thor- bushings  (16 oughly  with  moisture  free  compressed  air and 17) Screw (1 and 4) and Inspect grease  fitting  (14) Gland (2) Inspect Piston  (6),  washer Inspect (5)  and  retaining ring (15) Piston rod (3) Inspect Bushings (16 and 17) Inspect Replace if worn,  or  if threads damaged Replace if cracked or broken, or if threads damaged Replace  if  cracked  or  damaged Repair nicks or scratches with medium grit emery cloth, polishing with a rotary mo- tion. Replace if cracked or bent, if deep- ly grooved or scored, or if threads damaged Replace if cracked or deteriorated 3-187
