Dry washers (4), rocker arm thoroughly  with  compressed  air cover (6) and breather elbow (8) 4 Rocker arm cover (6) and Clean Scrape  all  gasket  residue  from  mating cylinder head surfaces INSPECTION 5 Rocker arm cover (6) Inspect Repair if dented. Replace if cracked or damaged so as to cause leakage 6 All other parts Inspect Replace if cracked, worn or threads damaged, if necessary, make hose (2) from FSCM 24161 P/N IFBRBRDLPBLKSYNRBRHYDHSE 3-4ID; cut to 44±0.5 inches long REPAIR 7 Rocker arm cover (6) Pound out small Use a hammer and wooden backing block dents to remove dents from rocker arm cover. Be sure that gasket mating surface on rocker arm cover is not deformed INSTALLATION 8 Reeker arm cover Breather elbow (8) Install NOTE If new rocker arm cover is used, install engine data decal (9) on new rocker arm cover (6). 9 Engine  compart- a. New gasket (7) Position On engine cylinder head ment,  top b. Rocker arm cover (6) Position On engine cylinder head c. Two grommets (5), Install  and Tighten to 4-6 pounds foot torque washers (4) and tighten nuts (3) d. Clamp (1) Position Over breather hose (2) e. Breather hose (2) Connect To elbow (8) f. Clamp (1) Position Until breather hose (2) is securely fastened and tighten to elbow (8) g. Top hood Install Para 2-53d 3-61
