STEP LOCATION ITEM ACTION REMARKS ENGINE NO-LOAD GOVERNED SPEED ADJUSTMENT (cont) 3 c.  Tachometer Position With  accelerator  pedal  fully  depressed, (cont) press conical tip against tachometer drive shaft on engine until tachometer hand stops moving, then note reading NOTE Tachometer  drive  shaft  operates  at  one  half  engine  speed. Double tachometer reading to obtain engine RPM. d.  Engine  no-load Measure Repeat step c above to recheck no-load governed  speed governed speed. If no-load governed speed is 2230-2270 RPM, proceed to step j. If speed is not correct, proceed to step e. e. Wire seal Cut  and  remove f. Lock nut Loosen g. High speed screw Adjust Adjust 1/2 turn at a time and recheck no-load  governed  speed.  Repeat  until engine  no-load  governed  speed  is 2230-2270 RPM NOTE Turn high speed screw out (counterclockwise) to increase engine speed. Turn high speed screw in (clockwise) to decrease engine no-load  governed  speed. h. Lock nut Tighten While holding high speed screw i. New wire seal Install and seal On high speed screw j.  Tachometer  drive Install Para 3-5f cover 3-37
