Dial indicator Zero Rotate engine flywheel clockwise until dial indicator hand stops moving, then reset  dial  indicator  to  read  zero i.  Engine  flywheel Rotate  clockwise  Until  dial  indicator  reads  0.010  inch. Scribe a mark on flywheel in line with timing pointer as shown j. Engine flywheel Rotate  counter- Past dial indicator zero, until dial clockwise indicator  reads  0.010  inch.  Scribe another mark on flywheel in line with timing  pointer.  Half  the  distance between these two scribe marks is TDC for No. 1 cylinder 3-27
