Cables (1 and 3) Position vehicle c. Cable terminals (7 Install Connect to starter on solenoid B terminal and 8) (para 2-27a) d. Clamp (12) Position Around  harness  and  battery  cables e. Cap screw (11), lock Install  and Until clamp (12) is securely mounted washer (10) and tighten nut (9) f. Two batteries (6) Install Lower  into  battery  compartment  with posts  positioned  as  shown g.  Two  hold-down Position On batteries (6) straps (5) CAUTION Do not over-tighten cap screws (4). Excessive tightening will deform  battery  case  and  damage  battery. h. Two cap screw (4) Install  and Until strap (5) is snug against top of tighten battery i. Cable clamps (2 and 3) Install Position clamp over battery post and tighten clamp nut j. Ground cable clamp (1) Install Position  clamp  over  negative  battery  post and tighten clamp nut 2-186
