Tighten to 80-90 pounds foot torque

INSTALLATION
NOTE
Install tappets (3) in same locations as originally installed.
Eight valve
Use No. 30 oil. Insert wood dowels (3/8

Cylinder block,
Lubricate,
bottom
tappets (3)
install, and
inch diameter by 12 inches long) into
push rod openings in top of cylinder head
secure
and push into stem of valve tappets. Lift
dowels and valve tappets and retain
dowels with clothespins
a. Camshaft gear (6)
Use No. 30 oil and lubricate camshaft
Cylinder block,
Lubricate,

lifter cams. Align holes in camshaft gear
