Scrape all gasket residue from mating

Replace if worn, or if threads damaged

INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT

Engine bottom
a. New gasket (5)
Apply Permatex 2 on both sides of
Coat and
gasket at front and rear portions only.

On engine, with gasket holes in alignment

c. Fourteen short bolts
Alternately tighten to 10-12 pounds foot
Install and

e. Four long bolts (1)
Tighten to 15-20 pounds foot torque
Install and
tighten
f. Gasket (7) and drain
Tighten drain plug to 29-31 pounds foot
