Remove four nuts (9), lockwashers (10), and
electrical wires (4 through 7) from relay (8).

Discard lockwashers.

Test relay (8) for proper solenoid operation.

Apply 24 VDC to terminals (11 and 12).
(b)
Listen for "click" when voltage is

applied. If no "click" is heard, replace
relay (perform Removal and
Installation sections of this paragraph).
(c)
If "click" is heard, go on to Step (5)

below.

Test relay (8) for continuity.

(a)
Apply 24 VDC to terminals (11 and 12).
(b)
Multimeter should show continuity across
terminals (13 and 14).
(c)
Multimeter should show no continuity across terminals (15 and 16) (if applicable).
(d)
Remove 24 volts DC from terminals (11 and 12).
(e)
Multimeter should show no continuity across terminals (13 and 14).
(f)
Multimeter should show continuity across terminals (15 and 16).
(g)
If continuity requirements are not met in Steps (5)(a) through (5)(f), replace relay (perform Removal and
Installation sections of this paragraph).
(h)
If continuity requirements are met, perform Steps (6) through (9) below.
