Item
Description
Oil Pump
Draws oil from the oil pan and sends it through the oil cooler, and then through the oil
filter. From the filter, the oil enters the cylinder block to lubricate the engine and is then
returned to the oil pan. From the filter, oil is also sent through the turbocharger and then
returned to the oil pan.
Oil Pan
Contains the oil that lubricates moving parts in the engine.
Engine Oil Cooler
Engine oil flows through the plates of the oil cooler. As the oil warms, heat is
transferred to the coolant which flows from the radiator. The coolant flows across the
plates of the oil cooler.
Oil Filter
Removes particles from the oil which could cause damage to the internal parts of the
engine.
Water Pump
Draws coolant from the radiator and sends it through the oil cooler cavity and cylinder
block to cool the engine. The coolant then returns to the radiator.
