GENERAL INFORMATION
1-1. SCOPE
a. Type of Manual. This manual contains unit maintenance instructions, at the organizational level, for the ATLAS.
b. Model Number and Equipment Name. The ATLAS (All Terrain Lifter Army System) Forklift Truck is equipped
with a 6,000 lb or 10,000 lb lifting carriage.
c. Purpose of Equipment. The ATLAS is designed for loading and unloading munitions and other palletized items
from transport vehicles and containers. The ATLAS is also designed for use as a standard rough terrain forklift.
d. Special Limitations on Equipment. The ATLAS has no special limitations. Normal limitations such as travel
speed, lift capacity, etc., are discussed in Para 1-12.
