TM 10-3930-671-24 3-17. FUEL SYSTEM REPAIR. a. Fuel Supply Pump Replacement. (1) Disconnect batteries (Para 3-25). (2) To remove fuel supply pump (1), proceed as follows: (a) Disconnect connector (2). Fuel is very flammable and can explode easily.  To avoid serious injury or death, keep fuel away from open fire and keep fire extinguisher within easy reach when working with fuel.  Do not work on fuel system when engine is hot.  Fuel can be ignited by hot engine.  When working with fuel, post signs that read NO SMOKING WITHIN 50 FEET (15 m) of vehicle. NOTE Prior to removal, position wiping rag under fuel supply pump to catch any spilled fuel. (b) Remove fuel line (3) from center fitting (4) of fuel shutoff valve (5). (c) Remove two fuel lines (3 and 6), and fitting (7) from fuel supply pump (1). (d) Remove two nuts (8), screws (9), ground wire (10), and fuel supply pump (1) from bracket (11). 3-23
