TM 10-3930-671-24 6. Move the truck slowly to prevent swinging of the counterweight. 7. Refer   to   previous   procedures   for   moving   and storing counterweight. Counterweight Inspection 1. Perform a full inspection of the entire counterweight when it is removed from the truck. 2. Inspect   all   surfaces   for   damage   and   cracks, particularly    the    inner    areas    which    may    be inaccessible when Installed. 3. Carefully   check   all   areas   around   bolt   holes, openings,   and   cast-in   thread   inserts   for   loose sections   of   material,   looseness   of   the   inserts, and damaged threads. 4. Check  the  threaded  nut  plate  which  retains  the outer (lower) mounting bolts. 5. Inspect   the   mounting   bolts   for   worn   condition and damaged threads. 6. Inspection of the counterweight may most easily be made while the counterweight is supported by the hoist during removal. Lower the counterweight to the floor. F-492
