TM 10-3930-671-24 Brake & Inching Pedal Adjustment Type 2 Dual Mater Cylinders Figure 1.  Brake & Inching Pedal Linkage Installation 1. The  service  brake  and  inching  pedal  linkage  installation  is  designed  to  require  a  minimum  of  maintenance  and adjustment.  Periodic adjustment is not required. 2. Brake  linkage  adjustment  should  be  made  only  when  it  has  been  found  that  inching  and/or  brake  response  is inadequate or incorrect: a) Pedals do not return fully (insufficient freeplay), or b) Full inching or brake master cylinder stroke is not obtained, or c) Inching/brake overlap is unsatisfactory. 3. Two adjustments may be made in the brake & inching pedal linkage: a) Adjust the number of washers on inching pedal pushrod for brake overlap: To  increase  brake  overlap,  remove  washers  to  suit  desired  overlap'.    All  washers  may  be  removed  if required. NOTE Change from standard may affect brake life or glaze brake linings if used frequently with light application. To decrease brake overlap, add washers to suit desired overlap.  4 washers total max. b) Adjust pedal-up stop screw for correct pedal freeplay (master cylinder pushrod clearance). Brake & Inching Pedal Freeplay 1/4-inch, nominal 1/8-3/8 in.  (3.2-9.5 mm) travel @ foot pad 4.    Bleed brake and inching system thoroughly before adjusting. F-390
