A.  REMOVAL 1. Raise    sideshift    carrier    and    install    two    jacks stands beneath carrier to secure during carriage removal procedures. 2. Remove upper carriage retainer (1) from carriage  weldment  (2)  by  removing  screws  (3), washers (4), and nuts (5). 3-214
