REMOVE THE GEAR HOUSING (6) AND OTHER PARTS (7-19). a.   Remove thrust plate (7).  Remove and discard seal (8), two seals (9), and two seals (10). CAUTION Gears   are   closely   machined,   therefore   they must  be  kept  together  as  sets  when  removed from a unit.  Handle with care to avoid damage to  the  journals  or  teeth.    Avoid  touching  gear journals. b.   Carefully remove drive gear (11) and driven gear (12).  Keep  these  parts  together  as  a  matched set. c.    Remove thrust plate (13).  Remove and discard seal (14), two seals (15), and two seals (16). 16-11
