TM 10-3930-659-34 4-16. ENGINE OIL COOLER REPLACEMENT (Con’t). a. REMOVAL I WARNING Servicing  of  engine  cooling  system  should  only  be  performed  on  a  cool  engine. NEVER remove clamps or hoses when engine is hot.  Pressurized steam, hot water, or coolant will cause serious burns. NOTE A suitable container should be used to catch any draining antifreeze.  Ensure that all spills are properly cleaned. 1. Remove drainplug (6) from oil engine cooler (7). Allow antifreeze to drain. 2. Remove nut (3) from nipple (5). 3. Remove adapter (2) from engine oil cooler (7). 4. Remove preformed packing (4) and drainplug (1) from adapter (2).  Discard preformed packing. 4-68
