Camshaft and Bearings (cont). 12 STEP LOCATION ITEM ACTION REMARKS INSPECTION AND REPAIR (cont) NOTE (cont) If camshaft bushings (10, 11 and 12) require replacement, perform steps 13, 14 and 15 below, otherwise proceed to reassembly. 13 Cylinder block, cup plug (13) Remove Insert rod into block through camshaft rear bushings and tap plug out; discard plug 14 Cylinder  block, a. Intermediate and Remove Insert  bushing  puller  tool  into  cylinder bottom center  camshaft block to remove. Use open end adjustable bushings (11) wrench to turn nut and draw bushing out. See  illustration  below b. Rear and front Remove Use bushing puller tool camshaft bushings (10 and 12) c. Intermediate and Install Place 1/2 inch wide bushing on puller tool center  camshaft with offset oil hole in bushing toward bushing (11) front of block and bushing oil hole aligned with oil hole in block. Use open end adjustable wrench and pull bushing into block until flush with forward face of block 4-56
