If you hurt your eyes or if a foreign object is blown into your  eyes,  seek  medical  attention  immediately. 6 All tubes, lines and fittings Flush Flush with clean diesel fuel to remove all traces of cleaning solvent. Dry thoroughly  with  compressed  air INSPECTION 7 Tube assemblies (3, 4, 8 Inspect Replace  if  cracked,  kinked,  dented,  split, and  13) or if inlet fittings damaged 8 All  other  parts Inspect Replace  if  cracked,  damaged,  or  threads worn INSTALLATION/  REPLACEMENT 9 Fuel  injection a. Sealing nut (23) and Install  and Tighten  sealing  nut  (23)  to  20  pounds pump tee (22) tighten foot  torque b. Leak-off tube (4) Position On tee (22) c. Sleeve (21) and tube Install  and nut (20) tighten d. Injection tube (8) Position On injection pump and fuel injector 10 Fuel  injector Inlet fitting on injection Connect  and Tighten  hand-tight  only tube (8) tighten 11 Fuel  injection pump CAUTION Do not tighten connector bolts (15) unless copper washers (16) are in place. If copper washers are not used, pump seizure could result due to connector bolt going too deep into pump body. a. Connector bolt (15) Install  and Tighten to 35 pounds foot torque and two new copper tighten washers (16) b. Sealing nut (14) and Install  and Tighten sealing nut (14) to 20 pounds elbow (12) tighten foot  torque c. Tube clamps (18), nuts Install To secure tubes (8) (19)  and  screws  (17) d. Fuel inlet line (13) Position On  fuel  filter  and  injection  pump e. Tube nut (11) Install  and To secure line (13) tighten 3-74
