Low clutch shaft
inspect
Inspect teeth for wear, pits, cracks, chips,
drum and bleed valve
nicks and scores. Inspect body for cracks,
assembly (20)
wear, distortion and damage. If any of
these conditions are observed, replace
drum and bleed valve assembly

Inner clutch discs
Inspect
Replace disc if worn, cracked, damaged or

Replace if cracked, worn, distorted, broken

or permanently set

Inspect
Bearings (2, 4, 8)
Inspect rollers and cages for wear, chips,
nicks and damage. Replace if any of these
conditions are observed. Dip bearings in
clean light oil and wrap in clean lintless
cloth or paper

Inspect
All other parts
Inspect for wear, damage, cracks and dis-
tortion. If any of these conditions are
observed, replace part
REASSEMBLY
Install and size
Lubricate oil seal with OE10 (refer to

Outer clutch piston
current lubrication order). To size
seal (18)
seal, rotate clutch piston while
holding a round object against new
seal as shown. Rotate clutch piston
until seal is flush with outer
diameter of clutch piston
