INSPECTION
Inspect
Inspect for wear, chipping, or nicks. Don't

replace a bearing cone or cup individually
without replacing mating cup or cone at
same time. After inspection, dip bearings
in clean, light oil and wrap in clean lint-
less cloth or paper for protection until
installed.
Inspect gear teeth for wear, pitting, chip-

Gears and shafts
Inspect
ping, nicks, cracks or scores; replace if
these defects are observed. If gear teeth
show spots where case hardening is worn
through or cracked, replace gear. Remove
small nicks with suitable hone. Inspect
shafts for bent, sprung, or twisted con-
dition; replace if necessary
O-rings, metal sealing
Discard
