2. With the piston heated, the pin will enter the
piston easily and can be pushed on through the
connecting rod and into place, without distorting the
piston.
3. The snap rings must be assembled in the
grooves. Make sure they are fully seated.
4. The piston pin hole in the connecting rod must
be parallel to, and in the same plane as, the large bore
in the bearing end of the connecting rod. This may be
checked on a fixture with the piston.

5. The completed piston and rod assembly must
be rechecked and there must not be more than
.002" twist or out-of-squareness checked over a
spread of approximately 4 inches.
The
connecting rod can be bent or twisted to meet
this specification. (Fig. 30)

Pistons are cam and taper ground.
